A DPV (Diver Propulsion Vehicle) is an underwater scooter that allows you to visit a larger area in a single, adventurous dive than you could ever do in a normal dive. With this scooter, for example, you'll get to the wreck which is just a bit further away and you also have time to look at it before you run out of air. Because you hardly have to fins yourself, so you use less energy and therefore air, you can probably stay under water longer.
During this SSI specialty we dive with a DPV with which you can reach a speed of up to 7 km / h. You learn everything about how the scooter works. How do I switch between the different speeds, how do I hold it, what is my position under water, how do I steer, how do I get my ears done while scootering and much more. You already understand that there is a lot involved in the (safe) use of a scooter underwater and that you do not just jump into the water with such a scooter.
Besides all the practical advantages of diving with a scooter, diving with a DPV is especially fun to do and that is of course the most importantly a very instructive SSI specialty, where you will experience a lot of diving fun during the three dives that we will make with the DPV!
